At the finale of the recently held Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2016, pregnant Bollywood actress, Kareena Kapoor Khan made quite a buzz by walking the ramp flaunting her baby bump. The actress looked stupendous in heavily embroidered kurti and lehenga embellished in gold threadwork as she walked for designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee’s bridal wear collection.
This April, Indian supermodel Carol Gracias broke stereotypes by walking down the ramp with her baby bump.
Kapoor has been making hitting headlines for her positive approach towards her pregnancy. She declared that acting is her passion which will not die with the birth of the baby and she’ll continue working until the end.
In the last few months, Kapoor has been critical of media speculations about the impact of pregnancy on her career.
It’s interesting to see an actress confident to work till the last as most of them lose the charm to the audience as soon as they marry. Kapoor’s mother-in-law, Sharmila Tagore has been the only actress to be at the top of her career even after she gave birth to Saif Ali Khan. Seems like Kapoor wants to follow the footsteps of the elder begum. Kapoor has always looked up, on Tagore as a career oriented woman who started a family, ran the house, looked after three children yet worked in the biggest commercial successes as well as some great serious cinema.
Till now Kareena has been giving hits and has handled her pregnancy in quite a practical manner, unlike her contemporaries.
Aishwarya Rai left the director Madhur Bhandarkar’s film ‘Heroine’ midway after she announced her pregnancy and so Kapoor had to be brought in as a replacement. Interestingly, the latter did not repeat the mistake and acted quite professional while working in Veere Di Wedding and did not hide crucial details from the makers of the film.
Kapoor has been maintaining her aura in the film industry after her marriage to Saif, it’ll be interesting to see if she can maintain the same after the delivery too. If yes, it’ll be a new start for the actresses who are famous to have a short life span on the big screen.
